Galena Forest Estates is located in the forested areas where Joy Lake connects with Mt. Rose Highway, on the way to Incline Village. Here you will find log cabin and other custom homes that were first built in the late 1970’s to present.
Timberline / Legends is just below (east) of Joy Lake Road on the north side of Mt. Rose Highway. It is known for its large parcels, large custom homes, and lots of mountain and valley views, and its extensive forested hiking trails.
Callahan Ranch homes are located east of Timberline on the south side of Mt. Rose Highway. They are also known for their large lots, access to hiking trails, wide open mountain views, and are a mix of custom homes, both old and new.
Mt. Rose Estates, Monte Vista, and Monte Rose are all fairly new home subdivisions, all built within the last 10 years or less. Most of these models are large, have no amenities (pools, gym, etc) other than gates and common area maintenance, are built with the popular quality materials and still have parcels available.
Rolling Hills and Galena Country Estates are older homes, built in mid 1990’s and late 1980’s respectively. Most have wood siding/hardie board, have lots ranging from 1/5 to 1/2 acres, and are extremely popular due to their nearby proximity to I-395/580, Galena High School, the Raleys shopping center, the South Valley’s Library and Sports Complex (within 5 minutes) and the Summit Mall.
Fallen Leaf Condos are located right next to the Raley’s Shopping center and are very popular also, as they are the only condos in this area that are owned (as opposed to rented). When first built in 2005 +/-, there were waiting lists to purchase.
